The mandatory health insurance certificate proves that an employee is covered by the company’s group health plan. It is mainly used to terminate an individual health policy, justify an exemption from enrollment, and comply with URSSAF audits.
During a URSSAF audit, you must be able to explain each exemption. A mandatory health insurance certificate signed by the employee is essential.
If you join the company health plan but already have an individual policy:
Ask your employer for this document: it must state that the group plan is mandatory.
Each exemption must be documented in writing and accompanied by a certificate.
If you are an employer and don’t have this certificate, please feel free to download our compulsory supplementary insurance certificate template. All you have to do is personalize it with your company data.
